10 Thing To Do Before Accessing The Deep Web

Deep Web and Dark Web are pretty different things. Before you dare to access the Dark Side of the Web on your Android phone or on Windows device, please understand everything there is to know about the Deep and Dark Web and the risks involved with it before you get into any trouble.

People tend to take Deep Web and Dark Web pretty seriously. I mean, it should be taken seriously at some point on your deep web journey, but not everything is scary or is going to damage you in some sort of way.

There are good sites too on the deep web that are not that dark. Example would be Facebook of the deep web. These kinds of sites are very helpful to protect your privacy.

But humans are curious creatures. Some find their way on the dark side of the deep web where they are exposed and are vulnerable to attackers.

What is Dark Web ?

Dark Web is the part of the Deep Web that intentionally hidden. Dark Web is relatively small compared to number of pages available on Deep web. This intentionally hidden part of the internet can be accessed using an IP address. Also, Dark Web is widely famous for illegal activities due to offered anonymity.

10 Thing To Do Before Accessing The Deep Web

1. Don't access on same hard disk.

A lot of people will try to access deep web and dark web sites on the same hard disk that contains their private files or photos. Now this is not a problem if you are only visiting sites like the deep web version of Facebook. Other sites can install a virus without your knowledge.

In fact, a virus surfed the internet couple of years ago. People of were victim to the virus were locked out of their private photos and were demanded to pay a price to unlock their files. Victims who denied to pay were threatened to expose and sell their private family images online.

2. Use a Bootable Device

So, instead using your personal hark drive on get on the deep web and get exposed, use a bootable pen drive. They are much safer and you can wipe them anytime you want. 3. Don't use Full screen Mode or Fit to Screen Mode

When your browser is fit to screen, your screen resolution is tracked. Attackers can track number of pixels on your screen and can keep an eye on what you are surfing if needed.

Use window mode instead and changing it in size time to time.

4. Use a Public WiFi Network

If you are already visiting deep web sites on your home WiFi network, STOP IT NOW! Devices of your family members can get exposed to an attack if they are connected to the same network that you are connected to. Furthermore, your home location can also be exposed. You don’t want a mad guy showing up at your house at night.

If you have baby monitoring cameras or any security cameras, just don’t access the deep web at home. Attackers can spy on you and can note the time of the day when there’s no one home.

5. Make sure you are still connected to TOR network

You are going to connect to the famous TOR network in order to get on the deep web. When you do, the first thing you should check is your IP address. It should never show your real IP address. If you don’t see any changes in your IP address, simply restart TOR browser and reconnect to the TOR network.

6. Don't use Windows if possible

You are not that secure on Windows operating system than you would be on a Linux. So it’s always a better option to install Linux on a Flash Drive to be safer.

7. Don't play videos or use flash player

You should never ever play flash games or videos on the dark web. You are vulnerable when you let the website use flash to play the content.

8. Don't enable Javascript

TOR browser should automatically disable javascrpit when you connect to the TOR Network. You should always check that the website you are visiting does NOT require access to JAVA at any point.

9. Don't Download

Some website may prompt you to download files. Downloading files can install a keylogger or a virus on your computer. If you notice any suspicious service running in background, clean the bootable flash drive and reinstall the operating system.

10. Don't click on suspicious links

This is such a obvious tip and yet people still get tricked into clicking on wrong links. Some website may lure you to the dark side by clickbaiting you. Do not click on anything that looks like an advertisements.
